Dear battery enthusiasts:
At Coulomb Technology we are laser focused on developing Acidic Zinc MnO2 as the next chemistry to replace traditional lead acid and lithium-ion batteries for both the e-mobility and energy storage markets.
Our patent-pending technology is safer, lower cost, more environmentally friendly, and made from one of the most abundant elements on earth with domestic supply and significant global reserves.
We believe our chemistry will provide best-in class energy density, cost, and safety compared with the other zinc and sodium batteries, much longer cycle life than lead-acid, and lower cost and much better safety than lithium batteries.
Our Near-term goals:
- Prove performance in a lab to meet the following specs:
- 340mAh/g on our thick cathodes with 0.7Ah pouch cells cycled at C/5 (or faster) with 200 cycles at 80% DOD. This will be ~ 140Wh/kg on a 100Ah prismatic cell. (ETC ~ Jan ’25)
- Move four scientists into ORNL’s lab (ETC ~ end Sept ’24)
- Move two scientists into our new lab in TN (ETC ~ end Sept ’24)
- Obtain additional non-dilutive funding – see below.
- Receive dilutive funding – see below.
Our mid-term goals:
Scale up to qualified commercial product
- Develop 20Ah, 50Ah, 100Ah, and 300Ah prismatic cells on our pilot line (20Ah ETC ~ Q1 ’26)
